Woke up early again. The body clock is very zun.
Ate pablo mini cheesetart for breakfast, bought yesterday night by the sister in-law. Waited until 6 am for the gym to open so I can jog on the treadmill to lose the 3 kg.
Check out the Family Mart socks. Given to me by my colleague last year.
After the 6 km jog, went for a soak at the onsen.
Today we are checking out from Osaka Hinode Hotel.
Let me give a review of the hotel.
Good:
- Very near mrt station exit
- Near to the major tourist attractions
- Good breakfast spread
- Onsen
- Free massage chairs
- Gym
- Complimentary ramen at 9 pm, and good queue management by the staff
- Complimentary drinks and ice cream at the lobby from 330 pm onwards (alcoholic beverages is 330 pm until 830 pm)
- New towels and toiletries placed nicely in a paper bag hanging outside the hotel room. Kudos to the housekeeping staff.
- Front desk staff can speak English
- 24 hour Family Mart is just opposite the hotel
AFI:
- The lobby was very crowded and rowdy at night. Many of them had alcoholic beverages on the table. I fear for my safety sitting among them.
- Room is a bit small, but rooms in Japan are typically like this, so is ok.
To summarise, I do enjoy the stay at Osaka Hotel Hinode. Is a pity that I did not go to the top floor to explore the garden and enjoy the Osaka city scenery.
Our next destination is our final airbnb of the trip. I chose this airbnb because is near the airport, as our flight is early in the morning at 10 am the next day, so we need to reach the airport at 8 am.
This is Yuan Ze and Yuan Yi's favourite room. Because can watch Youtube and got massage chair.
The airbnb is a traditional Japan house, with a very nice garden. The moment I saw this on the airbnb website, I know I must book this and stay here.
The airbnb owner is very hospitable, and is already waiting at the airbnb for us. He gave us a very comprehensive room tour, and also prepared welcome gifts for us. Very impressed by his hospitality.
Lunch was at an okonomiyaki restaurant, recommended by the airbnb owner. A very small eatery, that can only seat about 20 people. You know this place is definitely for the locals and not touristy. OMG what a good recommendation. All of us enjoyed the food. Yuan Ze and Yuan Yi enjoyed using the metal plate to "cook" the daikon from the oden.
The oden was really very good. Different league as compared to the oden from the konbinis. And omg we didnt know mustard can go so well with the oden.
Next we went to an orange orchard to pluck fresh oranges. OMG I underestimated the weather. It was so cold. But the oranges were good. Fresh from the trees, and very sweet. Yuan Ze and Yuan Yi enjoyed themselves plucking the oranges.
And we wrapped off our final night in Osaka by having dinner in the airbnb, eating da-baoed food from a few different restaurants near the airbnb.
Thank you Osaka for the wonderful memories!
